Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to build a laser communicator that uses electromagnetic waves to transfer information without direct connection between the input and output devices. This project will also investigate how the sound waves are transmitted as electrical and light signals through a microphone, a transformer, a laser pointer, a solar panel, and an amplifier.

Basic Idea and Intended Operation:
This project will employ the concepts of electric circuits, electromagnetism, and sound waves. A transformer, which will be connected between the battery, and the laser pointer, will act as a modulator to control the voltage. As the sound is input via the microphone, sound energy will be converted as electrical impulses. These impulses will be converted to light signals through a laser beam. When the light energy is transmitted to the solar panel by the laser pointer, the energy produced by the light will be converted into the electric signals which will power the output device. This idea is applied in space where laser beam such as infrared light is employed as the major source for data transmission.
